Infra Red
Capture to Print

15th-18th May 2023

3-Nights B&B

Maximum group size 3

Based in Bideford, North Devon

The coastline of the North Devon coast offers many opportunities for Infrared photography in Black & White and Colour. Infrared has an ability to capture dramatic skies and I am often drawn to them. More recently, I have been spending time in the amazing dunes we have all along the North Devon coast. I have been exploring ways to capture them in Black & White and also colour. These images are then developed using Lightroom. Capturing and editing Infrared images is only slightly different from conventional photography, so you will adapt quickly. You can use Photoshop or Lightroom to process your images but if you are a Lightroom user, I will share with you my unique way to perform channel swap in Lightroom without the use of Photoshop.

This workshop combines shooting, editing and printing. We are a small group and will divide our time creatively depending on the conditions. The outline plan is for 2 full days of shooting and 1 full day of developing and printing. Our studio offers the very latest A3, A2 and A1 printers from Canon and Epson and fine art papers from Fotospeed. All of the studio facilities are available during the workshop and we have included a material budget for 1-day of printing.
