Six students

MonoArt is a series of six, small group photography sessions, aimed at supporting your development as a Black and White photographic artist. Focused on seeing, interpreting and developing, these sessions will help you to improve your artistic and creative skills in a small and enthusiastic group. Each session will last 3.5hrs and will include group learning, individual reviews and a 15-minute comfort break. You will also receive 2 x 1hr 1-2-1 sessions over the duration of the course, dates to be arranged during the course.

The social dynamic of these groups is a hugely important part and seeing the work of others is very inspiring. Equally, receiving and giving feedback as part of a group will help you to understand your own work.

At each session, you will be able to share your work, give and receive critical comments and take part in live editing. These sessions are a natural compliment to my tool training workshops and help you to apply the ideas learned to your own work over a longer period. You are encouraged to bring work to each session for the group to review and for us to work with.

  • Supporting your development over a longer period

  • Work towards an agreed goal: Perhaps a panel of images, a book, a website or a distinction

  • Enjoy working in a small group of like minded photographers

  • Receive critical feedback and learn to give critical feedback

Pre-requisites:

  • This Class is for Black & White photography only, see my other class for colour

  • An internet connection suitable for the zoom sessions
